OLYMPIA DUMBO
UAG successfully led the preconstruction and construction phases for Olympia, a 28-story, 76-unit condominium in Dumbo, Brooklyn. The maritime-inspired architecture was influenced by the industrial heritage of Dumbo’s waterfront, resulting in a breathtaking resemblance to the sail of a ship. The unique structure cascaded, twisted, and turned within its shell, creating varying floor plates that required a creative problem-solving approach during construction.
The building’s setbacks and terraces resulted in atypical slab edges and floor plates, necessitating extensive surveying, coordination, and enhanced safety initiatives. This ensured that changes in concrete, window wall, and interior tolerances were meticulously accounted for and constructed. UAG successfully delivered several amenities and community gathering spaces spread over three floors: The Garden, The Bridge, and The Club, totaling 38,000 SF.
